Honestly speaking, if only money fall from trees, we are all going to grow them, right?! This is why for me, I try to spend my money on things that I really need because it’s hard to earn them!!!! Most of my friends know how stingy I am but I have a little secret I want to share with you since we are all friends now and that is, I’m a sucker for designer handbags. YES! I am willing to spend my moula on them!! Don’t ask me why coz I don’t know either. LOL!!! However, there are some designer bags that are priced waaaaay too high that I cant help but think; ” If I can wear second hand clothes, I can rock a second hand designer bag too! Hell, everybody can for sure!” So I did a little research, found a site/store called FASHIONPHILE, and bought my very first Chanel purse. Here ‘s what I have to say about my experience.
Who Is She?
Fashionphile is a high-end thrift store that claims they ONLY offer used and authentic designer items on a discounted price. They call themselves Premium Luxury Handbag Outlet that sells anything designer from accessories – shoes – bags – and clothes.
How It Works?
You can visit their actual store from Carlsbad, SF, New York to Beverly Hills via appointment or through their website, which I did and take your pick from all the brands they have. Once you know what you want, add it to your cart and pay. You can pay it in full or in layaway terms. For layaway, their terms varies depending on how new and pricey the item is.
Do They Accepts Returns?
Yes! You can definitely return the item within 30 days after purchase date. ( This is a plus for me! ) You can ship it back to them in your expense via Fedex or you can go to any of their branches free of charge.
For layaway items though, there is a 10% layaway service fee you have to pay which is 10% of the total price of the item. ( This is why it is important that you really love the item before using they’re layaway terms just to be sure. We don’t want to spend that extra $$$ right? )
Item must be returned in the same condition with no missing pieces too .
How I Made My Purchase?
To be honest with you, I am super skeptical to make a purchase because of the mixed reviews associated with the authenticity of their products. So before I get too excited to buy, I made sure to read every blogs, forums, videos and almost all reviews on how to distinguish a fake Chanel bag to the real one. Next, I gave myself a price range which is $1000 or less so I know up to how much I can only spend. Then, I scan through all the bags under my budget and put everything I want on my cart. I was staring at it for weeks though, trying to figure out which one to pick. I was so indecisive but then I was like “Come on Marie, you can always return it if you don’t want to keep it” ! Next thing I know, my bag arrived about 1-2 weeks in front of my doorstep.
Am I Happy With My Purchase?
Absolutely, without a doubt! I double checked everything from the zipper, the logo, the leather and down to the serial number just to make sure its real. I know I am no professional but so far, it really looks like what it claims to be. ( I know this because they have a description about how used the item is so I know what to expect when I saw the bag.)
Was It Worth The Moula?
YES! Yes, because I received my bag in a very nice condition. It is a used bag which means it will look worn out, it might even have a smell or wont look exactly how the picture is. For $716.54, I can say it is worth the money because I have been using it for almost a year now and I haven’t seen any loose stitches nor rips on it. Also, most of Fashionphile’s items are either lightly used or super used so keep in mind that you get what you pay for. I can’t guarantee that they only sell authentic items but with my experience, I do believe so. I will definitely buy another item from them, that’s for sure.
I guess there is one thing we can learn from this, and that is to really think twice before spending our “money”. At the end of the day, we are the ones who worked hard for it so we have the right to use it and buy anything we desire. Just remember, too much of anything is bad so do your spending in moderation! Happy shopping everyone!!!
